Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

The Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), aka artificial Insemination, is considered as one of the simplest and the most cost effective artificial reproductive techniques. It is the process of assisted conception using a sperm donor.
During the IUI process the doctor will physically place washed sperm into the uterus close by to the egg. This process is commonly carried out during ovulation. In addition, to add to the success of this procedure a special diet rich in nutrients is suggested before and after insemination. Furthermore, fertility drugs are used in order to considerably boost the chances of successful conception.
This process ordinarily uses sperm that has been donated by the mum’s partner or husband. In other circumstances, the women undertaking the procedure will use Donor Insemination (DI) programs in which sperm has been collected for donation purposes.
